Why I adore my kids…

posted 2 years ago

1. So every Thursday morning, we have a 30 minute music assembly called Morning Sing. Well one of the songs that we sing is a rhyming song and the last verse is a chance for different kids to make up a verse, or rhyme, on the spot. There were the usual cute ones like: “Have you ever seen a llama wearing his pajamas?” and “Have you ever seen a mouse building his little house?” Then, one of the boys got his turn and he said: “Have you ever seen a chick kissing a…” *insert long pause and a collective gasp from all the teachers, parents and principal in the room because we were hoping he didn’t know the word “dick”* Finally, he said the word “thick” and all the grown ups breathed a sigh of relief and the room erupted in laughter.

2. One of the girls in my class is super sweet and very, very shy. Today she came up to me, gave me a big hug and said, “Ms. Jess, I love you. So much!” Bless her heart. I love my munchkins so much too!

3. Every single day is filled with laughter, art, music, dance and joy (even on the days they drive me nuts!)

Thank you, Universe, for allowing me to find my calling. Thank you so very, very much.
